Steven C. Shaykett, MAI, President

Steve holds a certified general license in South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa. After receiving his BA in business from the University of South Dakota, Steve followed in the footsteps of his father and has now been in the appraisal business for over 30 years, starting his professional career in 1975 in Kansas City, Missouri. He spent 10 years appraising a variety of properties ranging from typical commercial properties to underground storage facilities for a wide range of local and national clients. In 1984, Steve established the Sioux Falls office and continues to serve national clients. He holds an MAI, the highest appraisal designation offered by the Appraisal Institute, since 1981. Steve serves at the chapter level on the board of directors. In addition to the Appraisal Institute, he is a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Professional Appraisers Association of South Dakota. He also served as a South Dakota State Appraiser Certification Board Member from 1989-2001. Over the last 30 years Steve has attended numerous classes, including specialized seminars in the valuation of low income housing, tax credit properties, Federal "Yellow Book" appraisal requirements and condemnation acquisitions training courses. He is qualified as an expert witness in State and Federal courts.


Travis Shaykett, Appraiser

Travis holds a certified general license in South Dakota. During his tenure with Shaykett Appraisal Company he has acted as a research assistant and project manager overseeing the construction and management of a 28 unit town home complex and 76 unit apartment building. His property appraisal experience includes commercial, retail, office, industrial, multifamily, new construction, and agricultural properties through South Dakota. Travis earned his Bachelors Degree in Construction Management from South Dakota State University.  Travis is a member of the Appraisal Institue and American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. 


George Stavrenos, Appraiser

George holds a certified general license in South Dakota. His experience includes working as an Ohio Registered Appraiser Assistant and an extensive background as a professional baseball executive. Appraisal assignments he has worked on include general commercial, retail, office, industrial, multifamily, hospitality, special use, new construction, development land, and subdivision development valuation. In addition he has worked on low income government assisted multifamily properties to include, LIHTC, Section, Rural Development, rent , market analysts, and feasibility studies. George holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from University of South Florida and is a member of the North Star Chapter Appraisal Institute.
